Safety waiver and disclaimer

The risks of sea angling

Sea fishing takes place on beaches, rocks, piers and boats where surfaces can be wet, uneven or slippery, and where waves, tides, weather and sea state can change quickly. I understand that hooks, weights, knives and bait carry a risk of injury or infection, and I accept these risks for myself and anyone in my care.

Following instructions

I agree to follow Tony Owen's safety instructions at all times, to wear the safety equipment provided where it is asked for, and to stay within the areas he identifies as safe. Tony may end or move a session at any point on safety grounds.

Fitness, health and children

I confirm that everyone in my party is fit to take part, and that I have declared any medical conditions, allergies or mobility needs below. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, who signs this waiver on their behalf and remains responsible for them throughout.

Fish welfare and the law

I will handle fish as instructed, respect size limits, closed seasons and catch-and-release requests, and leave no litter or line on the shore.

No guarantee of a catch

I understand that fish are wild and that weather, tides and sea conditions change. Tony Owen cannot guarantee that anyone will catch fish, and I accept that we may not catch anything. A session without a catch is not grounds for a refund.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, I accept that Tony Owen is not liable for loss or damage to personal equipment, or for injury arising from my own failure to follow safety instructions. Nothing in this disclaimer excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
